Counselor's Corner

Hello, and welcome to our school counseling page! I'm Counselor Katie, and I'm thrilled to be your elementary school counselor at Vineland Elementary School. I am deeply passionate about working with students to support their academic success and nurture their social-emotional well-being. My goal is to support the safe and inclusive environment at Vineland Elementary School.

At our school, I work closely with students, teachers, and parents to promote a positive school climate and ensure that every child feels valued and supported. Here are some of the ways I contribute to our school community:

                 • Individual Counseling: I provide short term one-on-one support for students who may be facing challenges.

                  • Group Counseling: I facilitate small group sessions on topics such as friendship, self-esteem, and coping skills.

                  • Classroom Guidance Lessons: I collaborate with teachers to deliver lessons on important topics like study                                                    skills and conflict resolution.

                  • Parent and Teacher Consultation: I partner with parents and teachers to address concerns,                                                                              develop strategies  for student success, and foster effective communication.

                  • Crisis Intervention: I am trained to provide immediate support and resources during times of crisis or                                                          emergency.

Making Our School a Better Place

I am committed to making our school a better place by promoting kindness, respect, and empathy among students and staff. Together, we work on initiatives such as:

                    • Peer Mediation Programs: Empowering students to resolve conflicts peacefully.

                     • Resource Outreach: Attempting to connect families to resources as needed or requested

                     • Character Education: Supporting values like responsibility, honesty, and fairness through activities and                                                         discussions.

                    • Community Building Events: Organizing events and activities that bring students, families, and staff.                                                          together to celebrate diversity and unity.

I encourage students, parents, and teachers to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas.
